Home Decor

Welcome – stay awhile!  I have always enjoyed interior decorating.  In high school (eons ago), I took a class due to my interest, and though they taught basics, times have changed—rules are bent, and no longer are the days when everything was one style, idea, or theme.  We can now mix styles, adding hand-me-downs, collections, and what interests us, diversifying our tastes.

My ideas have morphed as well.  When I was first married, I was all about early American and colonial styles – I couldn’t get enough, and our earlier homes reflected those tastes.  Slowly and over time, more contemporary styles were added. Now I have a more classic look.

Don’t get me wrong; it’s also eclectic, with antiques, a farmhouse, and rustic elements. Since moving to North Carolina, home improvements have become part of our lifestyle. We recently redid our dining room and laundry room.

Home decor involves so much more, it includes these elements: light, line, form, color, pattern, texture, and space. But it also includes updating, renovation, arranging, and organization!
