Herb Plant Stakes

It’s that time of year to start your herb garden, be it a few plants in your kitchen window or a full-blown garden!

I love herbs for their medicinal and culinary uses, specifically their culinary benefits! Nothing is more satisfying than gardening, and an herb garden is beautiful. Here’s a picture of part of the herb garden we had in California. I hope to have one here in North Carolina, but space is difficult with our yard layout.

Regardless of how big or small your garden is, you’ll want plant stakes to mark your plants. This is very important if you send one of your family members out to pick some herbs. They won’t come back with Italian parsley if you want cilantro!

You only need a few supplies listed below:
- White card stock
- Scissors
- Glue gun/glue
- Craft sticks
- Labels (see below)

Download the labels provided below, and print on quality card stock. Cut out the desired labels and glue them to the top of a craft stick. Viola—super easy-peasy!

Parsley and basil. The two most popular moisture-loving herbs — parsley and basil — grow exceedingly well next to each other.
Cilantro grows well alongside all herbs, including dill, except fennel. It also tends to grow nicely during cooler seasons for year-round freshness.
Use the picture chart above for more pairings. Don’t forget, planting these herbs next to each other in the garden works well, too!
And don’t forget…
